Everyone in the Chorus is as busy as Santa's elves preparing for "Holiday Toons" to be held at the beautiful Birch North Park Theatre on Saturday, December 13, at 8 pm and Sunday, December 14, at 3 pm.
This fun-filled and family-friendly concert features music made famous by some of your favorite cartoon characters, but presented with the flair that only GMCSD can provide. You will want to sing along to selections by Alvin and the Chipmunks, Elmer Fudd, Jack Frost, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer – not to mention Santa Claus and his whole North Pole gang. There may even be a surprise appearance, but you will have to come to the concert to find out Who.
"Holiday Toons" also features a newly-staged full production of Tomie DePaola's award-winning children's story, "Oliver Button is a Sissy." This sweet story of a sensitive boy who seems to be different from all those around him will truly touch the hearts of everyone who hears his tale. Will he find a place to fit in? Where might that place be? And how will his friends and family learn to treat and respect this special boy? This story with its messages of love and acceptance is a perfect part of the holiday season, and GMCSD is proud to present it.
